Autumn - My favourite time of year to photograph

Joanne Lewis • Sep 25, 2019

What's your favourite season?

I love summer, I'm not a sun worshipper, but love being active with my family, and in the summer we spend our evenings and weekends going for long walks in the fields behind our house, and bike rides along the river... So am I sad that summers over? Not at all! Autumn is an outdoor photographers dream... The muted brown and orange tones, falling leaves, pumpkin fields... This is the time of year, more than any other that I like to get out of the studio and take families out to experience nature.
But what should I wear for my Photoshoot?
Deep blue and purple colours can really contrast and compliment the forest at this time of year. Denim works really well against the orange leaves, so if you're a casual jeans kind of family you're in luck.

I always advise my clients to try to pick out 1 or 2 complimentary colours that they can pick out in their accessories... Mustard brown scarves and hats, or an aubergine jacket really bring through the feeling of autumn...
What about in the studio?

In the studio we can bring the feeling of Autumn to your photoshoot through the use of these same colours. I love this photo by Hannah Willis from Cherish Forever Photography... If you are looking for a newborn photoshoot near Cheshire-west I'd highly recommend checking out her beautiful website: http://www.cherishforeverphotography.com

Gift Voucher for Photography Sessions
by Joanne Lewis 26 Nov, 2020
I couldn't let Black Friday 2020 go by without some amazing deals for my wonderful and valued customers... I've missed you all so much this year, but have loved the few shoots I was able to squeeze in between lockdowns and Home Education. With all the optimism I can muster for next year (I am naturally a pretty positive person) I am offering some spectacular deals on vouchers for my Hertford Studio and outdoor or on-location sessions next year (packages may be given as gifts, but please confirm preferred locations around Hertfordshire and some parts of London, Cambridgeshire and Essex with me before booking).
